Mała Karczma

A settlement which is part of the Rakowiec village. The name Mała Karczma (Klein Krug) comes from the inn located on the road in the XIX century. The settlement was an important communication point for the inhabitants of the surrounding villages, In 1909, the railway station of the line Smętowo–Opalenie–Kwidzyn was formed in Mała Karczma. The road to the road bridge over the Vistula River has also run from here.

Over the lake there is a sawmill and a mill dating from 1916, both placed in the region of the old dam from the XVI century on Struga Młyńska. Moreover, in the settlement, not far from the lake, there is a magnificent palace from 1905. It has once housed the post office, while the currently new owners conduct the agro-tourism activity there. In the basement of the building there is a private museum of the railway Solidarity. Noteworthy is also the panorama from the palace tower to the lake of Rakowiec. The boat, kayaks and bikes are also available for the guests.
