Protected areas
The area of the Gniew commune (the city and the eastern part of the municipality) includes the fragment of the international channel of the lower Vistula, which covers the forested area of the plateau edge. There are no natural curiosities of the national or European importance. The nature is protected in four reservations. The terrain and small woodiness make the landscape with the vast, wavy agricultural panoramas. The nature and municipality landscape protection is provided by the areas of the protected landscape areas: Gniew Areas of the Protected Landscape and the Vistula Area of the Protected Landscape.
